Anne asks: I have a question about something sensitive. My daughter has a new man in her life. He is a great guy and we think he is awesome. He has a habit of sometimes leaving his baseball cap on at the dinner table. I think he usually doesn’t wear it if it is a Sunday dinner affair but for casual it is usually on. The other day I was out for lunch with them and his baseball cap stayed on in the restaurant. Another time his brother was in our company and he as well kept his cap on. His parents are not familiar with this etiquette custom. I have always taught my own son to take his hat off and he is in his late 20’s and he always takes his hat off. I am surprised that my daughter doesn’t say anything. My husband says I shouldn’t say anything to her as it may cause hurt feelings. Do you have any suggestions?
